Department of Post under Ministry of Communications, Govt of India is invited online applications for recruitment of GRAMIN DAK SEVAKS (GDS) [Branch Postmaster (BPM) and Assistant Branch Postmaster (ABPM)] posts (30,041 posts) from eligible Indian citizens. Eligible candidates can apply online through the link given below.
Post name and Educational Qualifications:
1) GRAMIN DAK SEVAKS (GDS):
(a) Secondary School Examination pass certificate of 10th standard having passed in Mathematics and English (having been studied as compulsory or elective subjects) conducted by any recognized Board of School Education by the Government of India/State Governments/ Union Territories in India.
(b) The applicant should have studied the local language, i.e., (Kannada-Karnataka) at least up to Secondary standard [as compulsory or elective subjects].

- Knowledge of computer
- Knowledge of cycling
- Adequate means of livelihood
- Minimum age:18 years
- Maximum age:40 years
- Schedule Caste/Scheduled Tribe (SC/ST): 5 years
- Other Backward Classes (OBC): 3 years
- Economically Weaker Sections (EWS): No relaxation
- Persons with Disabilities (PWD): 10 years
- Persons with Disabilities (PWD) + OBC: 13 years
- Persons with Disabilities (PWD) + SC/ST: 15 years
- Based on Merit of Percentage of Marks secured in SSLC/10th Standard.
- Rs.100/- (Rupees one hundred only)
- SC /ST applicants, all female applicants, PWD applicants and Transwomen applicants are exempted from payment of fee.
